The side wing is positioned near the anchor tip, ensuring the barb lock forms entirely within the structural substrate and not in the soft insulation layer. This guarantees that the mechanical interlock and expansion grip are achieved in the load-bearing wall, while the smooth upper sleeve section simply holds the insulation panel firmly against the wall surface without crushing or compressing the insulation material.
The smooth tapered nose guides the long anchor through the insulation panel and into the substrate drill hole without jamming or folding. The pre-alignment collar accepts 2-3 pre-turns of the long screw, enabling single-unit insertion through the insulation into the wall.
