This prevents the anchor collar from pulling through or deforming under the concentrated load of heavy cable trays filled with power and data cables.
The side wing deploys as the screw is driven through the cable tray bracket into the anchor, creating a barb lock that resists the continuous micro-vibration transmitted through electrical containment systems from nearby machinery, HVAC equipment, and building movement. This prevents the gradual walk-out that can occur with standard anchors in long cable tray runs subject to thermal expansion and contraction.
The smooth tapered nose guides the anchor into pre-drilled holes in concrete walls, soffits, and structural steel-encased concrete common in electrical installation environments.
