The flanged collar provides a wider bearing surface that distributes the clamping force of the pipe clip over a larger area, preventing the clip from digging into or deforming the plastic anchor collar under sustained pipe weight and thermal expansion cycles.
The side wing deploys as the screw is driven through the pipe clip into the anchor body, creating a barb lock that resists the continuous vibration and pulsation forces transmitted through plumbing and HVAC pipework. This prevents the gradual loosening that commonly affects standard expansion anchors in MEP applications subject to water hammer, pump vibration, and thermal cycling.
The smooth tapered nose guides the anchor into pre-drilled holes in concrete slabs, brick walls, and blockwork substrates common in MEP rough-in.
