The Flanged Collar Plastic Furring Channel Leveling Anchor is specifically designed for soft substrate ceiling mounting applications in aerated concrete block, soft brick, and lightweight concrete where standard narrow-head anchors would sink into or crush the substrate surface under load. The anchor features an integrally molded wide flanged collar at the base that distributes the clamping force across a larger surface area of the substrate face, preventing the anchor head from embedding into soft or friable materials during diagonal tightening. The nylon PA6 body with split-expansion ribs provides secure anchorage within the drilled borehole, while the square head design ensures positive torque transfer during the diagonal tightening phase. Installation follows the standard four-step furring channel procedure adapted for soft substrates: drill a matching hole slightly undersized for tighter grip, thoroughly clean borehole dust, vertically hammer the flanged anchor until the collar sits flush against the substrate surface, and diagonally tighten the screw to activate expansion and clamp the flange firmly in place.
